Job and the Eternal Plan of Happiness

by David C Herries

Job’s story is a profound exploration of peace and happiness—
not the fleeting kind tied to comfort or success, but the enduring kind
rooted in faith, purpose, and perspective.

About The Book

This Old Testament book of Job is written in beautiful Hebraic poetry. In
his book “The Spirit of the Old Testament” Dr. Sidney B Sperry said that
Alfred, Lord Tennyson called it "the greatest poem of ancient and
modern times".
There has been speculation over time as to who wrote Job and
when it was written. As far as I can determine nobody knows the answer
to these age old questions, however in the opinion of the author there
were two authors. The prose in chapters 1 through 2:8 were written by a
person that was highly knowledgeable of the Gospel and man’s
relationship with God. He also had a full knowledge of Heavenly Father’s
great Eternal Plan of Salvation because it is fully outlined in the text of
the Book of Job as you will see. Chapters 2:9 through 42:6 were written
by a gifted poet, in my estimation it was possibly the person that we know
as the “Psalmist” during the period of King David, however there is no
proof of that.
