The HicPup Adventures of Buck, Winnie, and Boomer

The Pig That Was Afraid of the Mud

by Sheila Rae Boyd

About The Book

Did you know every name has a meaning? Do you know the meaning of your name? Does your child know the meaning of his or her name? Do you live up to the meaning of your name? Is your child learning to live up to the meaning of his name?
Proverbs 22:1 states, “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches . . .” I believe it is God who chooses our name. It is important to know the meaning of our name; otherwise, how can we ever hope to live up to its meaning and, therefore, to our full potential?
Through the sweet story of a small pig that is afraid of the mud, this book introduces the child to the concept that his name has a meaning and that it is important for him to learn that meaning and be active in living up to that meaning. Additionally, the story will subtly expose your child to the negative effects of bullying, as well as the positive effects of the encouragement of friends. Sit down with your child today with this book and help them find new meaning to their name and how their name can guide them to live up to their full potential.

Sheila Rae Boyd is my pen name for many of my books; however, Sheila Rae Morgan is the name I go by.

I not only write books of my own, but I also edit, lay out books for publication, and design covers for other authors. I have previously written and revised Christian school curricula; authored the Nova Scotia Series of historical, Christian fiction; ghost written Things That Are Different Are Not the Same and Timeless Echoes; co-authored Rediscovering the King James Bible; and authored the true story, Not My Shame, as well as others. I hold a doctorate degree in education and taught in Christian schools for several years. She had a desire that each of her own children learn to write well, so she resigned teaching in a school setting, where there was little emphasis on writing, to homeschool her children, where she placed an emphasis on writing. Two of her children are now published authors. An avid hunter and fisherman, Sheila resides with her husband, Steve, in Lakeland, Florida.
