MAKING ME!
Chosen, Covered, and Called to Rise Again.
“Making Me” is a raw, redemptive, and powerfully honest memoir of a woman shaped by pain, strengthened by purpose, and sustained by faith.
Born into poverty in a home filled with six girls and very little certainty, Dr. Luquanda Hawkins chronicles her journey through abandonment, abuse, rejection, and deep personal loss. Without naming names or seeking revenge, she shares the hidden battles—domestic violence, single motherhood, ministry wounds, emotional trauma—and the divine breakthroughs that followed.
Yet Making Me is not just a story of survival. It’s a testimony of transformation.
With gripping vulnerability, Dr. Hawkins invites readers into her soul’s journey toward healing—from the girl who was overlooked to the woman who finally felt seen, safe, and chosen. Along the way, she found strength not in perfection, but in God’s relentless grace. She writes with the boldness of a prophet, the wisdom of a mother, and the tenderness of a woman who has been made whole.
Each chapter is rooted in scripture, grounded in truth, and filled with spiritual insight for those navigating their own path through pain. Readers will be challenged to forgive, empowered to heal, and reminded that no trauma is wasted when God is the One doing the making.
For every woman, every daughter, every single parent, every survivor, and every person who’s ever asked, “Can something good come out of this?”—this book is your answer.
“Jesus is still the answer. And the closer you get to Him, the better off you’ll be.”

Embracing Gods Call
The Case for the Ordination of Black Female Pastors within the Church of God in Christ
This book explores the intersection of social justice and the ministry journey of Black women within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), the most prominent Black religious denomination in the United States. It examines the historical and theological foundations of COGIC, with a focus on the systemic devaluation of Black women, the suppression of their leadership roles, and the antiquated policies that confine them to subservient positions. This study argues that the denial of leadership opportunities to women constitutes unequal treatment and represents a critical social justice issue.
