Andrea Panteli
My wounds wrote this story. Her strength finished it.
by Andrea Panteli
The same questions whisper through me like echoes I can’t silence. Why my Mum? Why me? Why us?
At just four years old, Andrea Panteli’s life was completely changed by a stroke that never should have happened. One day, her mother was vibrant and energised; the next, her left side was entirely paralysed. But in this journey of loss, pain and premature responsibility, a quiet steadfast strength was born.
When your life is shaped by someone else’s medical negligence, life-threatening surgeries and frequent hospital visits, you learn to live in the present, making each moment count and growing a quiet resilience almost without noticing. Despite her mother’s complex health journey, Andrea grew up with a devotion and love that doesn’t always need words.
Through the Shatter, She Became will take you through the lasting imprint of illness, complex but tender mother-daughter bonds and a kind of grief that lives alongside deep gratitude. Out of faith and resilience, Andrea’s identity was formed; not by what was planned, but by what was lived.
This book is for anyone who has loved imperfectly, grieved deeply and learned to carry both sorrow and gratitude through the unpredictability of a life lived fully.
Through the Shatter, She Became is a deeply personal memoir of resilience, identity, grief, and healing.
At just four years old, Andrea Panteli's life changed forever when her mother suffered a devastating stroke. Growing up, she carried unanswered questions, unspoken pain, and the weight of experiences that shaped her sense of self.

If you've ever felt broken, lost, or weighed down by your past, this story will remind you that your experiences do not define you - your strength does.
“Despite the adversity the author shares that 'Healing became my purpose, my drive. And I realised something profound: being a woman had never been about one organ or one role. My strength, my womanhood, my identity, lived in my resilience, in the lessons of pain, in the courage to keep standing, and in the love passed down by the woman who raised me.' Raw, heart wrenching and heartwarming this story gives us faith in resilience and empowerment, reminding us that we're not defined by what happens to us but instead how we respond to it. Thank you for generously sharing your story Andrea.”

“Through the Shatter She Became pulled at the heartstrings. The story was moving, showing the incredible strength and resilience of one woman who endured challenge after challenge. This could be anyone at any time, which is what made Andrea’s story relatable. She reflected on the situations she faced and where her strength came from. What Andrea went through will no doubt resonate with many readers who may have faced their own difficult chapters in life. She came across as an everyday person facing everyday challenges, some more heart-wrenching than others, yet it felt like life kept throwing more at her in a domino effect that could have completely shattered and broken her forever. Instead, she somehow found the strength to rebuild her faith in herself and, through it all, discovered a path that gave her purpose and meaning. Master M also shone throughout this story as a real source of support, showing how family and the people who stand beside us can make all the difference when life’s challenges appear.”

Author of 'Through the Shatter, She Became' - a memoir of healing and hope.
Andrea Panteli lives in Sydney, Australia, where family and faith sit at the centre of her life. Born in Australia to parents from Cyprus, she grew up closely connected to family and cultural traditions, while also navigating the realities of her mother’s long complex health journey. From an early age, she learned about responsibility, resilience and the quiet strength it takes to keep going when life felt uncertain. Andrea is a wife and mother of two sons, roles that shape her priorities and perspective. Much of what she values now – presence, compassion and steadiness – has formed through lived experiences and family life. For much of her younger life, Andrea had little interest in exercise. After a quiet and unexpected epiphany, she began to transform her own life. Opening a fitness studio was never part of the plan, yet it became a turning point – one that reshaped her confidence and sense of purpose and allowed her to support other women as they grow stronger in their own lives. When she isn’t writing or working, Andrea is usually found on the sidelines of a soccer field, proudly cheering on her boys. Even after years of watching, she still doesn’t know the rules – but she is, without question, their biggest supporter. Through the Shatter, She Became, is her first memoir.
