Then her car breaks down.

Parker Macallan has spent his life fixing other people's problems while keeping his own carefully buried. A tattooed tow truck driver with a reputation for being rough around the edges, he's the last man Annalise expects to trust—and the first man who's ever made her feel truly safe.

What begins as one unforgettable night quickly turns into something far more dangerous than either of them anticipated. Their chemistry is undeniable. Their worlds couldn't be more different. And just as Annalise begins to believe she may have found the place—and the man—to heal her broken heart, the secret she's been carrying threatens to destroy everything.

About The Book

The Unexpected Fix
Some fixes aren't planned… but they change everything.

Annalise Thorne has always believed that success comes from careful planning. Build the career. Stay focused. Never let anyone get close enough to break your heart again.

But life has a way of laughing at even the best-laid plans.

When her car breaks down during a violent thunderstorm on a lonely South Carolina highway, Annalise finds herself stranded, frustrated, and miles from anywhere. The last person she expects to come to her rescue is a towering, tattooed tow truck driver with molten chocolate eyes, rough hands, and a quiet strength that's impossible to ignore.

Parker Macallan has built his life around fixing things.

Cars.
Trucks.
Engines.

People? That's a different story.

Parker keeps his world small, his walls high, and his heart safely out of reach. Helping a stranded stranger should have been just another job.

Instead, one chance encounter changes everything.

The attraction between them is immediate, undeniable, and impossible to resist. What begins as playful banter and stolen glances soon turns into late-night conversations, lingering touches, and a connection that neither of them ever expected to find.

But love isn't always enough.

Annalise is hiding a secret that could destroy the fragile trust growing between them.

As their worlds collide, they'll have to decide whether the risks of opening their hearts are worth the possibility of losing everything.

Sometimes the greatest love stories begin when life falls apart.

Sometimes the people we least expect become the ones we need most.

And sometimes the biggest detour leads us exactly where we're meant to be.

Will Annalise trust Parker with the truth before it's too late?

Or will fear convince her to walk away from the one man who was willing to fight for her from the very beginning?

BJSpurs

A quirky, fun, indie author of contemporary romance.

I didn't intend to write a novel at all. I woke up from an unfinished dream and I HAD to know what happened. That was how I started writing my first book. I didn't even plan on it being a book, I just started typing. I was thinking short story at most. I was well over 100 pages in, after days of my nose being buried in my laptop, when my husband's curiosity finally got the best of him, "What are you doing?" "Writing." "Writing what?" I struggled to vocalize what I was actually writing. I fumbled my words, "A...umm...a book. I'm writing a book." Saying it out loud sounded ludicrous. I'm a social worker, not an author. I can't believe I just told him I was writing a book. I felt like a fraud. English majors, journalism majors, scientists, they write books, not me. My husband's response, "Hmm! Ok. Cool." He was much more accepting of my newfound creative outlet than I was. And so I continued. I wrote and finished my first book in my early 30's. I've gone on to write 16 books, all in various stages. Some are complete, some just need editing, some are bare bones and outlines for the storyline, some are crazy scenes that I love that I somehow need to magically tie together. I'm excited that I've finally published my first book almost two decades after that first time I vocalized "I'm writing a book." I am looking forward to publishing the next two books in this series: Keeping Her Secret and Giving Heaven Some Hell, which are both prequels to The Unexpected Fix. All three books have common characters, but are written as stand alone books.
