Flennoy’s journey began in the heartland of America surrounded by the values and experiences that shaped his unique perspective. In 1973 in a classroom lit by the glow of new ideas a substitute teachers challenge ignited the spark of creativity that would lead to the birth of a legend influenced by the community around him including the wisdom of Hattie Stoval and the bond with twins Dennis and Denise Jenkins, Flennoy wove and narrative that would echo through generations. Try as you may there are some things that you don't know the facts on. You would be hard pressed to find someone that do. I have worked hard to give the world all of me and jet it would seem that there is more to give. I do not know what it is you are looking for. I truly hope you come to find those things you need. Other wise, if you are as kind as you can be as much as folks will permit you, you will begin to see clearer just what you have been put here for. So, keep reaching for those stars. I made it a point to give each poem the best look for the person I was writing for. However, as it turns out, I have received quite a few extradentary comments that has left me breathless. One that I received she showed the pome to her mother. She read it, made a copy, framed it and hung it on her wall. You can only imagine how great that felt. So, as I leave these words in your care.
