A Mother's Guide To Raising Sons with Legacy In Mind (with Workbook)
by Christopher M. Houston
Raising a son as a single mother is not just about survival—it’s about legacy building.
Male to Man to Mentor for Single Mothers is a faith-centered, practical guide designed to empower mothers who are raising boys into men of character, purpose, and impact—even without consistent male support. Written by father, mentor, pastor, and retired prison chaplain Christopher M. Houston, this book reframes manhood as a three-stage journey: Male → Man → Mentor.
Through biblical insight, real-life wisdom, and clear developmental guidance, Houston helps mothers understand what their sons are experiencing internally (emotionally, spiritually, and developmentally) and how to respond with confidence instead of confusion. Rather than focusing on control or behavior management alone, this book equips mothers to shape identity, build character, and cultivate legacy.
Inside, mothers will learn how to:
Understand male communication and emotional expression
Set healthy boundaries while fostering trust and openness
Nurture purpose, discipline, integrity, and resilience
Shift from managing behavior to mentoring identity
Help sons grow into leaders, protectors, and legacy-minded men
Complete with reflection questions, practical tools, and a companion workbook, this book serves as both a roadmap and reassurance—affirming that while a mother may not “be the man,” she absolutely plays a vital role in shaping one.
You are not alone.
You are not behind.
And you are more equipped than you think.
Let Male to Man to Mentor for Single Mothers guide you in turning everyday challenges into moments of growth—for both you and your son.
