Pastor John Gilbert — “Pastor G” Visionary Leader • Broadcaster • Servant of God Pastor John Gilbert, affectionately known across the Caribbean and beyond as Pastor G, is a visionary leader, broadcaster, and devoted servant of God whose life reflects the power of grace, resilience, and divine purpose. Born in British Guyana to Gerald and Vomica Gilbert, his early journey carried him from Guyana to St. Lucia and eventually to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands—places that shaped his identity, his culture, and his calling. From a young age, Pastor G was a dreamer. He carried a deep sense that he was created to do something meaningful, something that would impact lives. At just twelve years old, he surrendered his life to Christ. Though he later drifted away, God never drifted from him. In one of the darkest seasons of his life—while incarcerated—Pastor G encountered the transforming power of God’s love. It was there, behind prison walls, that he rededicated his life to Christ and began to dream again. But this time, the dreams were different. They were God‑dreams. In that place of brokenness and rebuilding, God birthed in him a vision to reach people with hope, truth, and the presence of God. One of those visions became Daily Encounters With God.
