Kedric, a skilled and confident young wizard, has been living in exile in a foreign kingdom for many years. News of threats to his adopted kingdom sends him far to the north, where ill tidings from Senture, the kingdom that exiled him, find him and seek to tear him away from his mission to save his adopted home. As Kedric and the Mage Hunter Delan travel to confront the dangers in the north, they discover that there is something which connects the troubles in the north and the south, threatening all of Senture and the Collegia Magica, the place Kedric truly calls his home. Enemies both new and old converge to exact their vengeance for his past deeds, and Kedric has to push forward to save the kingdom that drove him away so long ago and reclaim the life he once lost and might have again.
