This is the introduction of a completely revamped (pun intended) version of the physical make-up of Vampires.
All the old hackneyed vampire personas are gone. This story starts out with a Private Investigator in Seattle, Washington. He is a vampire; he has lived in Seattle for 70 years or so and never knew that there were others like him there or anywhere in the USA.

She joined the US ARMY just as she turned 18. Years later, just short of the completion of her third tour in Afghanistan, she returned to the States for her father's funeral. As her current enlistment was coming up, she chose to leave the army and was hired by the Boeing Museum near the Seattle Municipal Airport. One night, when she stopped at a local bar for a beer and a bite to eat, she was attacked by a Rogue Vampire as she was leaving, a being she did not believe existed.
She was saved by a couple that was of the same breed as her attacker but were not of the same ilk. They were the good guys. Was she infected with the pathogen that was present in a Vampire's blood? Would she become one of these creatures? Who were these saviors? Would she become one of them?

Just turned fifteen, underfed, mistreated foster child takes to the streets of Seattle seeking a better life. Viciously attacked and left to die, she is discovered by a pair of Vampire Angels. This pair are two of the new breed of Vampires that give her the possibility of survival.
