Tales of the Interverse Faire; Volume Five
by Steven Russell Hyde
The Testosterona 7000 line of exotic spacecraft, the MK-1 through MK-5, are the fastest ships in the universe-each successive one faster than the previous model. Humans have only been able to withstand a nudge on the throttle, these ships are so fast.
But Leon's wife, Maakui says something to him, which gives him an epiphany of how he can take the Testosterona MK-1 to full throttle! Partnering with his Zeni friend, Clyspus, the "Speed Run" is initiated! It is the most highly rated televised event in the history of the universe.
Malematameus is a Kenavellan veteran of the War of the Arcs who, after the war ends, takes a job as a ship's cook. His ship is beset by pirates and he soon arrives at the legendary pirate port of Maskadar! His new adventure begins.
Threeth is a Llighphaugh Extra-Universal, who after the war of the arcs, finds a job working at Mysar Starshiprights-the premier Starship builders in the universe. Though keeping his Extra-Universal status on the down low, he still manages to get involved in intrigue and espionage.
Nimue, a Kenavellan Extra-Universal, is barren and cannot bond with a fertile male and waste his seed. She is devastated that even he Extra-Universal status won't give her leeway. She decides to adopt an Ogetti Human child, descended from Earth's first star faring epoch. Naming him Atrayus, he is raised in the Kenavellan warrior culture, privately tutored until his final year of higher education. He must finish his final year as the only Human in an all Kenavellan school.
All lives interweave and affect each other no matter how small. Every life is important.
My name is Steven Russell Hyde, I make stuff!
Creating stories is the first thing I've ever done! Being the son of two ordained ministers in the Foursquare denomination, My mother, who was also an artist, got me interested in the creative arts. My father, also being a singer, connected me with a vocal coach, who had me singing "Away in the Manger" before a packed house at Angelus Temple in Los Angeles, at four years old! (No, they weren't all there for just me, ya sillies!) Starting with show and tell in kindergarten, I wrote stories as I thought of them. In grade school, I started documenting my dreams and blended some together to create a few more stories. Parallel with that, I've been an avid model builder since the age of four. I found out I could get paid for my hobby in '86 and worked on the practical ant for "Honey I shrunk The Kids!" Since then there have been numerous other films including ABYSS, TITANIC and BACK TO THE FUTURE TWO. With a two-year stint on staff at Disney Imagineering, I learned a lot about robotics and show design. Parallel with all that, I have been involved in more than a few extreme sports, just for fun. Currently, I have a Virtual and Augmented Reality Theme Park concept burning a hole in my pocket. "Tales of the Interverse Faire" came from a dream I had. In writing it out, I found myself asking, "Who are these people and what are their backstories?" "What is the Interverse Faire and how did it come to be?" and, "What planets support these alien life forms and how did they get out into space?" It took a decade to create the universe that Tales of the Interverse Faire exists in. The nutshell version? We Humans, from earth, colonized out and seeded the stars with our kind. Everything happening in my books is present day and all live affect each other, no matter how small.
How does one born outside the universe, live in it?
