Life should be great for Sebastian Ferriman, but he’s having a tough time adjusting to life at the top private school in the country. At night, mysterious nightmares plague the 13-year-old budding genius. During the day, the bullying from his rivals torment him.

When Sebastian lived at home in the hills of western Massachusetts, he yearned to get out of the shadow of his fraternal twin Viola. While at public school in bucolic Pendale, the brainiac bookworm yearned for a better education. Ambition, however, has only brought more anguish into his life.

To top this off, the memory of a transcendental journey he took with his sister has been lost, leaving a hole in his mind, body and spirit. A powerful weapon bestowed upon him has also gone missing. Time is running out to become whole again. He needs to remember the details of this quest.

On a school trip to Japan, Sebastian is drawn to a cryptic forest. A gateway to a parallel world opens, where his dreams and nightmares collide with the force of katanas across the enigmatic Mount Fuji landscape. Navigating a mystic world of dragons and samurai is one thing, but an inter-dimensional enemy makes this otherworldly journey even more dangerous.

Sebastian needs to determine who to trust, and how he’ll return home to his world. He has to catch up on his metaphysical studies as well. In this class, Viola is getting better grades. The instruction and protection from her spirit guides are invaluable to her success.

Will Sebastian be able to remember his ultimate fate? And will he finally be able to cast his own shadow?
