Julia L. Marr: A Life Woven with Words, Art, and Nature Julia L. Marr, the acclaimed children's author, has just launched her exciting new Rowley Dennison's Adventure Series, beginning with Rowley's Dream. Growing up in Perth, Julia's lifelong passion for writing stories, poetry, songs, musicals, and screenplays was fostered by the fragrant Australian bush. She is also an avid abstract painter and the inventive creator of "snail art," a testament to her playful nature. As the youngest of three girls, she wrote extensively, observing the changing natural landscape. After completing a Diploma in Writing in 1986, Julia's talents blossomed. As Julia Starr, she became a professional songwriter, charting on Australian Country Music Charts, earning a Golden Guitar nomination and two QEII Silver Jubilee Trust awards. Inspired by her father's pioneering jazz band, The Cornerhouse Jazz Band, she remains passionate about country music and still performs today. Now residing in Far North Queensland, Julia lives immersed in nature, observing crocodiles and cassowaries near the Daintree rainforest. She dedicates her time to growing a habitat garden for tropical butterflies and working with a non-profit, teaching digital, hospitality, and business skills. Rowley's Dream is just the first taste of a rich backlog of stories ready to enchant young readers.
