Lemery Funk, carried the tradition forward, keeping a slim diary of private reflections, spiritual meditations, and wry observations while also serving as the family genealogist. In turn, Querida Funck adds her own voice—poems born in college years and later explorations of belonging, grief, and transformation. The chorus extends into the twenty-first century with Shane Merrigan, whose high school writings reflect a raw, searching honesty.
Together, these works reveal the deep resonance of words carried across time—handwritten pages, typewritten journals, digital drafts—each shaped by the world around them.
