“DNF Reason: In all honesty, I couldn’t get past the first chapter of this book. I’m not sure if it was the formatting or simply that it didn’t draw me in, but I found myself constantly rereading paragraphs because I wasn’t connecting with the story. I read this for a book club and tried to push through, but it just didn’t happen. I did skim the last four chapters to get the gist and, even then, I was still unsure whether Ella and Alex rekindled their love—it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. One review I read described it as a “delightful romance full of wit and warmth,” but honestly, it didn’t tell me much about the actual plot or help me better understand the characters.”
