964 Years serving the Crown

THE MITFORD DYNASTY

by HUGH MITFORD RAYMOND

About The Book

The Mitford Estates have been confiscated twice by the Crown in the first and second Baron’s War. It took generations of the Mitford's to recover. Landowners, philanthropists, writers, historians, supporters of the first Parliament, activists, communists, fascists and peers of the realm - a fascinating story told by Hugh Mitford Raymond, great-great grandson, nephew and cousin to the last seven Mitford squires on the direct Mitford mainline family since 1066.
Born in South Africa, with the name Mitford and after reading the Mitford Estate Act 1854 by Royal Assent (Queen Victoria) with his great-great grandfather’s and 3 of his great uncles names on it, locked in a trust of 900 years in the House of Lords, Westminster, he set to writing this book to hopefully….put those Mitford girls into context.
