Mitsie Montijo is a wife, mother, and survivor from Fort Mohave, Arizona. For more than 25 years, she has built a life with her high school sweetheart, raising three children and creating a home rooted in love, loyalty, and resilience.
Her passion for advocacy comes from lived experience. Mitsie is deeply committed to raising awareness about suicide and PTSD, two struggles that touch countless families yet often remain hidden in silence. She speaks openly about her journey — the pain, the healing, and the ongoing work of recovery — in order to help others know they are not alone and never beyond hope.
Today, Mitsie is pouring her heart into VowsByMitsie.com, a project that blends her love for human connection with her mission to empower trauma survivors. Through her platform, she shares her story, offers support, and creates safe spaces where people can be seen and heard without judgment.
Mitsie believes in the power of truth-telling, compassion, and community. She has learned that even the most painful experiences can become fuel for purpose, and that healing is not about perfection but about finding strength in vulnerability.
Her life’s work reflects a simple but powerful belief: every voice matters, every story carries meaning, and even in the darkest chapters, there is always a path forward.
