She owns the estate, but he's the captain of her heart, mind, and soul

Eternal Spirit Bond

by Mriana Williams

She owns the estate and is the matriarch of her dynasty, but he is the captain of her heart, mind, and soul.

During an interplanetary war, a deaf, telepathic, Ianni woman must escape her abusive Terran husband, who is controlled by enemy forces. With her young twin daughters and younger sister, who interprets for her, the future matriarch must flee to her older sister and brother-in-law’s ship, only to be kidnapped by a powerful being. The god-like being stows her away on an ally ship in deep space, without family and little means to communicate until the war ends. In one night, before her divorce is final, she becomes eternally bonded to the great love of her life. She is returned to her home planet, pregnant by another man, only for her family to encounter a shapeshifting assassin controlling her soon to be ex-husband, resulting in death and destruction. Who dies? Who survives? Does the monster snatch the life from Rhianna’s unborn baby or does her pregnancy continue and she cheats death? Is this the beginning or the end of a romantic journey? Does she find the love of her life who ignites flames of passion or is love lost forever? Does she rebuild or does everything crumble?

If you like stories with aliens and humans, Pagan-like cultures, strong women, strong deaf characters, matriarch societies, Native Americans, frenemies, sci-fi, paranormal, mythical, slow burns to full on fire, but most of all enduring romance with fire, then this story is for you. Based in space, on Earth, and Ianna, where love is sacred.

About The Book

This book is for all those who are tired of the same old romance tropes and those who are tired of weird alien Sci-fi romance books. Yet it is also for those who love Star Trek: Imzadi and enjoy Imzadi fan fiction. It is for those who wanted to write a Star Trek book, but found too many hoops and complications to publish it with the powers that be. It is all of that, but without the copyright issues and confines of the Fandom. There are no billionaire men, Mafia, bikers, or enemies to lovers, but there is proximity and shapeshifters are in the story. The main couple are not shifters.

There is a hint of Native American and Pagan rituals and cultures, which were adapted to the story and not the actual rituals of either. There are ships. The romance gets steamy, even a bit spicy without hardcore BDSM. While it is not Star Trek or Babylon 5, it is sci-fi and romance, with a touch of paranormal, but both lovers look human, even though one is humanoid. It is a mix of ancient mythology, such as Rhiannon and others, but the mythology adapted to this story. There is also some Native American mythology too, but again adapted to storytelling. If you know these mythical stories and legends, then you spot them, though the names have been changed.

This book, as well as others in the series, started as fan fiction. After writing them, I thought about trying for a Star Trek book only to find it too complicated to get them published with the powers that be after discussing how to do it with two established Star Trek authors. So, I decided to remove all the potential copyright stuff, removing established constraints, and opening my stories up to new possibilities. The story became a Sci-fi, paranormal, mythical, romance book, as I played with the gods and goddesses of the past, mythology, paganism, Native Americanism, and of course love in space. However, I do thank the late Peter David for inspiration and I thank David Mack and Dayton Ward for their advice and guidance, which freed me from the constraints of canon. It enabled me to form my own canon for my own stories.

The romance is between a human and a deaf telepathic humanoid, who mostly looks like a human female, except for the eyes that give away her species as telepathic. It has a Star Trek Imzadi flavor with even a touch of Babylon 5, which also had a Star Trek flavor. Thus, the introduction is important to understand humanoids from Ianna, who are similar, yet different and yes, the planet’s name is taken from the goddess Inanna, but adapted to the fictional language of my alien species.

A noble Ianni deaf woman must escape her enemy possessed husband. Her divorce was placed on hold due the Imperium-Interplanetary war After fleeing her sister and brother-in-law's ship, a powerful being kidnaps Rhianna, she bonds deeply with another man on the ship the entity transport to in order to protect the future matriarch, keeping her alive. With no means to communicate, she must find a way to survive among the hearing without her interpreter or other tools to communicate. After she falls in love with the great love of her life, she finds out there is a jealous captain, who pushed the man away in favor of her career. The first woman that the first officer dated that the captain became jealous of, knowing this relationship was not a passing one and would last. After Rhianna and Uwohali bond, they conceive a daughter, she is born, and the two marry, Neesha stays jealous and the rivalry between Rhianna and Neesha continues.

This story is a first in a series and eventually the other couples in this story will receive their story too. Most of my stories are for mature audiences.

Some disclaimers: The Cherokee words are real, but some cultural aspect have been adapt to space and time. At least I tried to keep them real, but the visions and vision quests in my stories are not Native American. They are only a work of fiction to fit the story. Though the idea of going to a place where the deaf can hear did come from the song “Ghost Dance” by Bill Miller. The Ianni language is purely my own creation, but I made every effort to keep the Cherokee language authentic.

Mriana has written many Star Trek Fan fiction stories, but since it is difficult to get such stories published, she decided to write stories that are a mix of Sci-fi, mythical, fantasy, and romance with strong female characters. While many stories take place on her fictional planet, called Ianna, Earth, and in space, romance is the theme, with plenty of steam that sometimes is a little spicy. If you like Science Fiction mixed with romance, deaf characters, strong female characters, and lasting love that goes on for a lifetime with steam, then these stories are for you. She is a mother and a grandmother. She is also a fan of Star Trek, Babylon 5, Doctor Who, Buck Rogers, as well as other Sci-fi shows and books.
