Build better goats. Build a better farm. Enjoy the journey.
“Concise, easy to digest, serious info presented with some humor... I think everyone should own this book.”

Turning decades of hands-on goat farming into practical advice you can use with confidence.
Hello, I'm Jeff Peterson, owner of Nature's Nook Farm in Good Hope, Georgia. My passion is raising healthy, productive goats and sharing what decades of hands-on experience have taught me. Like many goat producers, I didn't learn everything from books—I learned by building fences, delivering kids in the middle of the night, solving health problems, improving pastures, and making my share of mistakes along the way. Those experiences shaped the practical, farm-tested approach you'll find throughout Raising Kiko Goats. Over the years I've raised Spanish, Boer, Nubian, and New Zealand Kiko goats, ultimately choosing Kikos for their hardiness, maternal instincts, parasite resistance, and ability to thrive in a pasture-based production system. Today, Nature's Nook Farm breeding stock can be found in herds throughout much of the United States. Before becoming a full-time goat producer, I spent more than 30 years in corporate Human Resources, where I learned the value of planning, continuous improvement, and helping others succeed. Those same principles guide my approach to farming today. Whether you're buying your first goats or managing an established herd, my goal is simple: to help you avoid costly mistakes, raise healthier goats, and build a more productive, profitable farm. Build better goats. Build a better farm. Enjoy the journey.
