Hillman tried its hand publishing sports comics three times. They started with Real Time Sports #1,
then All Sports #2 and 3 and finally with issues #4-7 of All Time Sports.
The series showcased the origins of football and golf, explanations on how to play cricket, tales of
wrestlers, ice hockey and lacrosse players, and sumo wrestlers even bob-sledding. There were
stories about car and horse racing plus soap box derbies. Biographies of baseball players Mike Kelly,
Rube Waddel, and Jack Scott, football player George Gipp, plus boxers John L, Sullivan, Stanley
Ketchel , Jem Mace and Tom Molineaux.
The three series also can boast some exceptional artwork by Bob Powell, Manny Stallman, Leonard
Starr, Bernie Krigstein, Bob Jenny and Charles Raab. Regardless of what title the series went by, the
Hillman sports comics were well crafted and very entertaining.
