Li’l Tomboy is the cousin of another Charlton funny-kids character, Li’l Genius.
Li’l Tomboy’s series lasted a total of sixteen issues. Of course, Charlton’s
numbering system comes into play again. Li’l Tomboy’s first issue is #92, picking
up the numbering of Fawcett’s Funny Animals series, a title Charlton picked up
from Fawcett at #84, when Fawcett stopped publishing comics. Li’l Tomboy
series lasted from issues #92 to issue 107.
The covers and most of the interior writing and art were done by Frank
Johnson. Li’l Tomboy is a fun romp of a kid’s series, in the spirit of Dennis the
Menace and Little Eva. Volume One collects Li’l Tomboy issues #92-99.
