An autobiography of the life of a very fortunate man. Born and raised in Southern California, migrating to San Diego and starting a family in the prime of his life, Rick has lived a charmed life. Lucky to have enjoyed the second half of the 20th century, and perhaps the Golden Years of the Planet Earth, he is now dedicated to the practice of writing. The Rub explores how we cope with unexpected transformational moments.
My life choices have been esoteric. Meaning they don't look very connected or well planned. I have been riding a roller coaster, enjoying the thrill of unknown corners and sudden ups and downs. I made a decision in my early twenties, to make my career decisions based on my tolerance for the work. But, I also knew I was going to have a long term relationship involving kids. So whatever else came along, that was my priority. The rest is "For The Record", I want you to decide, was I successful?
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my love of communication with willing participants.
Rick Elkin is a third generation Southern Californian with an affinity for freedom, the great outdoors and fellowship. I give my undivided attention to the preservation of the Nuclear Family as the Foundation of Civilization. Just as a musician creates a tune to please the ear, I hope to tickle the readers conscience and tantalize their eyes.
