Scottish-Australian author of all sorts of types of books

I was born and brought up in Scotland, in the village of Ormiston, East Lothian, just 12 miles from Edinburgh. After studying Classics and Old and Medieval English at Wadham College, University of Oxford, I worked for 10 years as a TV researcher and producer at Channel 9 in Sydney and at the BBC in London and Glasgow. Having my first child and moving to Karachi shot a rocket through my TV career. We then moved to Sydney where, in 2001, my first book was published, the very practical Sydney For Under Fives. I am co-author of The Australian Autism Handbook, now in its fourth edition, and of Beyond The baby Blues. My latest book is ‘Going Under’: A Memoir Of Family Secrets, Addiction and Escape. I love fun facts and trivia and have written two books on these topics: Wildly Weird But Totally True: Australia Wildly Weird But Totally True: Animals Of The World
