Book One of The Echoes of Bridgefall Series
by R. M. Kiser
Bridgefall remembers everything—especially the lies.
Branded a traitor after the Glass Bridge collapse, Serenya Nerio is hunted by the city she once swore to protect. The Council of Memory controls what every citizen recalls, rewriting history through shards of stormglass that whisper new truths into stone. If the Council completes their grand revision, the rebellion—and every honest memory—will vanish.
To survive, Serenya must reclaim the fragments that hold Bridgefall’s real past and expose the author behind the city’s deception. Each shard draws her deeper into the labyrinth of her own lost memories, where love, grief, and guilt blur until she can’t tell which voices are hers and which belong to the city itself.
Across the drowned bridges and mist-filled streets, an assassin haunted by his own erased history follows her trail. A councilor who once called her daughter now calls for her death. And within the stormglass, the city itself begins to speak—offering answers at a cost she may not be willing to pay.
The Echo Rewritten is a dark, atmospheric fantasy of memory, authorship, and the cost of truth. Fans of The City of Stairs and The Golem and the Jinni will find political intrigue, slow-burn tension, and a world where every reflection listens. Written in lyrical prose and layered with psychological depth, it’s perfect for readers of adult and crossover fantasy who crave emotion as much as mystery.
Begin The Echoes of Bridgefall trilogy and uncover who truly authored the collapse—before the city rewrites you too.
Stories of Hope, Healing, & Truth Across Genres
Summit & Shore Publishing is an independent imprint founded by Ricky Kiser, dedicated to stories that illuminate hope, healing, and truth—across genres, across generations, and across the quiet spaces where resilience takes root. Ricky is an author and therapist from Kingsport, Tennessee, whose journey into storytelling began as an anniversary gift for his wife of nearly 31 years. After her passing in early 2025, that gift became a lifeline—a way to honor her memory and their shared love of stories that matter. His debut novel, The Echo Rewritten, blends mythic romantic fantasy with psychological-thriller undertones. At its core are themes of grief, resilience, and the search for light in dark places—threads drawn from Ricky’s work in acute psychiatric care, where he witnesses the human spirit’s capacity to heal. Writing as R. M. Kiser, he is also crafting faith-based parable retellings, contemporary love stories, and a foster-care series that gives voice to those too often unheard. Ricky is a proud father to a son adopted from foster care at age 11 (now 16), and he volunteers with his local community theater. At home, life is joyfully shared with one rambunctious puppy and three cats. Every story he writes—and every title published through Summit & Shore—is a legacy artifact: rooted in truth, shaped by compassion, and offered with the hope that someone, somewhere, will feel seen.
