The chemistry between Maelyn and Darius is definitely there—the banter is sharp and the tension is high from the second they touch. If you’re just here for the "fated mates" sizzle and a dark academy vibe, you’ll find plenty to enjoy in their immediate, possessive connection. That said, the execution felt really rushed to me. I enjoyed the read, but the storytelling moved so fast that the character development took a backseat. It felt like we were sprinting through the plot, which left Maelyn and Darius feeling a bit unfinished as individuals. By the time the cliffhanger hit, I felt like the story was just getting its footing rather than reaching a natural breaking point. It’s a fun, quick ride if you don't mind a very fast pace, but the style was just a little too hurried for my taste.”
