Every service dog has a job. Mo also has opinions.
In Mo the Service Dog, Mo shares the story of how he became a service dog for his human, Beenie, along with some of the adventures, lessons, and laughs they experienced together. Told with plenty of canine personality and humor, Mo's story offers a heartfelt glimpse into the important work service dogs do — and what they wish humans understood when they encounter one.
Meet Mo.
He's a service dog with an important job, a human named Beenie, plenty of stories to tell, and apparently a book deal.
In Mo the Service Dog, Mo takes readers along on his journey from dog to working service dog, sharing how he came to help Beenie and some of the adventures they experienced together along the way.
But Mo has a bigger reason for telling his story.
As service animals become increasingly visible in everyday life, there's still plenty of confusion about what they do and how people should behave when they encounter a working service dog. Through Mo's perspective, readers get an entertaining and accessible introduction to the importance of service dogs and some of the etiquette that helps them safely do their jobs.
And because Mo isn't interested in delivering a boring lecture, he brings plenty of humor along for the ride.
His hope is simple: that his story helps more people understand and appreciate service dogs, the humans who depend on them, and the remarkable partnership they share.
Mo also has one slightly larger dream.
He'd like Pixar to turn his story into a movie.
Because apparently publishing a book wasn't ambitious enough. 🐾
Until Hollywood calls, Mo hopes you'll enjoy his story — and the next time you encounter a service dog working alongside their human, you'll remember him.
“A Mutt-Read :) But Really. Beenie and Mo really fill a real space in the conversation about dogs' role in our lives, especially when navigating difficult circumstances. Thanks to you both, and Mo, say hi to Melo and Ralphie. Thank you for what you do.”
