Angry Musings From Africa
Lynda Tilley: The Unsung Hero of African Humanism
This book is about a revolutionary Humanist leader, a human rights activist and defender and a Pan-African lady who touched upon the lives of many people in Africa in the brief time she graced the world.
It’s about Lynda Tilley, born in Rhodesia - now Zimbabwe - into times of liberation struggles and to a father who supported the independence movement of the Zimbabwean people against the Ian Smith government.
It’s about a life spent fighting for the rights of marginalised people across Africa.
It’s been quite a journey writing this book and I am thrilled to announce that the noble work is done.
Inside these pages lies the story of my friend, Lynda Tilley, her incredibly well-done work, her human rights activism and legacy.
From Zimbabwe to Tanzania, where she earned the "Mama Kelele" named so for going to police stations and raising her voice against a system that keeps innocent people inside the filthy jails of Tanzania, to Kenya, Uganda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, Lynda‘s activism was felt.
I tell her story in these very pages and it’s a story she told me so passionately that I have shared it with love.
Lynda wanted to write as you will read in part 29. In fact, she wrote a summary of the chapters she wanted to feature in her book. It was a book about Africa.
I wrote this book without enough rest because it had been a promise that I made to Lynda. It was my fear of letting my best friend down that I took leave from MIND - an NGO in Newcastle, England, so I can concentrate on writing this book.
I’m sure I did justice to Lynda but certainly, I know she would have written more about her private life than what I have presented. However, I have captured and presented much of what she told me: the chaos, the uncertainty, and unique circumstances and details of her life that I am confident you will find this book fascinating.
I have not presented her life in a chronological order but rather as acts in a play depicting a revolutionary fighter.
In this book I unveil the hidden truths, life struggles, dreams and activism of Lynda Tilley and you will definitely be touched by her story. Enjoy.

The God Business And The Death Of Reason In Africa
Unlocking The Slave Mind Of The African Child
The God Business is one of the very best books you will read on Religion and how exactly it has destroyed Africa and the world. It is written by a popular Atheist and Humanist - Human Rights Lawyer, who has handled several cases of victims of Religion all persecuted across AFRICA and the Middle East.
He has been always there to support people who feel marginalised and disenfranchised by the present obsession with religion. He is courageous, impassioned, brilliant, engaging and some times impolite when pushing for the rights of non-believers. He is against forces that impede human betterment.
In this book, "The GOD BUSINESS", Kato goes bare knuckles and comes roaring forth through his powerful arguments against superstitious beliefs, dogma and religion and he urges the reader to stop wasting time and money on religion because to him, prayers is one way of talking to oneself to do nothing.

Song Of An Infidel
Lines For Critical Thinking
In his exuberant style, Kato Mukasa again goes bare knuckles to religious beliefs and explodes in bitter satire as he ridicules the fallacy in religion.
As an open Infidel, Kato is a rebel against the general flow of conformism and he has refused to follow the bandwagon.
He says he is a victim of the church and more so the Catholic Church in which he was forcefully conscripted and for over 30 years he has totally rejected religion and all its Gods!
Kato is a certified and proud infidel and in this long narrative poem he talks about the absurdity of religion in all its facets and yes he bashes it. He exposes the stupidity and the hypocrisy and everything wrong with religion.

Humanism In Uganda
The publication of Humanism in Uganda, Its Past, Status and Future is a welcome development. It has the potential of transforming the belief/non-belief landscape in the region. Non-believers face challenges expressing their views and living out their beliefs because post-colonial African states are weak and unable to contend and limit the undue influence of religions, especially Christianity and Islam. Post-colonial African states only pay lip service to freedom of religion or belief of nonbelievers, and tend to be biased towards one or some religions, the dominant religion(s).
In this book, the influence of Islam and Christianity on the legal, political, social and cultural sphere in Uganda cannot be overemphasised. Today, more than 90% of the population is religious and less than 1.5% is non-religious. Although the Constitution provides that Uganda is a secular State, in practice the government encourages discrimination against non-religious community. Lack of neutrality of the State on religious matters makes the government an instrument for religious oppression and the persecution of non-believers.
Although organised Humanism is less than 50 years old in Uganda, currently there are more than 30 Humanist organisations and 15 schools. These entities are registered with UHASSO which serves as the umbrella body. The activities of these entities include education, promotion and protection of fundamental rights and freedoms, poverty alleviation, and vocational training.
Humanists celebrate special times in the journey of life such as naming of a child, marriage and death and funerals. The ceremonies have gained acceptance and legal recognition parts of the world. In Sub-Saharan Africa, many Humanist organisations are lobbying their governments to legally recognise the ceremonies. Non-recognition of marriage ceremonies between Humanists amounts to discrimination. A petition to legalise Humanist marriage ceremonies in Uganda was lodged by UHASSO. The same has been forwarded to the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs for action.
In Uganda, Humanists still face various challenges. These include persecution, discrimination, political isolation, social intolerance, government restrictions, lack of legal protection of Constitutional guaranteed fundamental freedoms and Human rights, and limited spaces for advocacy of non-theistic views. Non-believing students are not allowed to opt-out of religious classes and de facto compulsory religious worship in Schools. The achievements made by Humanist organisation in education, prohibition of corporal punishment, non-discrimination of prostitutes and albinos, and protection of the rights of LGBTQI+ in Uganda within a short time has been possible with the support from our International friends.
We continue appealing to both local and International friends for technical and financial support. This book is a call to action against persecution and violation of the humanity and human rights of non-believers in Uganda and Africa.

Some People Are Gay, Get Over It
A Tale Of How Dictatorships Weaponised Homosexuality And Strategies To End Homophobia In Africa
“Writing this book was a labour of love. I have spent over twenty years doing human rights work. As a Human Rights Activist, I worked with institutions, organisations and individuals all over the world. We have addressed the concerns of albinos, sex workers, apostates, children, women, the elderly, asylum seekers, the homeless and other vulnerable people around the globe. However, the most vulnerable group of people I served were the homosexuals. This book is an effort to highlight the plight of homosexuals living in Africa. It is a clarion call to action too. Holed in my room today, looking out of the window, I see dark black clouds full of foreboding as the day dawns. It reminds me of the pain my friends pass through back in Africa. Their crime is to be homosexuals. I have looked on helplessly as politicians in Africa use homosexuality as a tool to keep themselves in power. I have seen how homosexuality has helped dictators keep their grip on power all over Africa. I have felt so helpless for a very long time. I thought I must do something extra to do advocacy about the plight of homosexuals living in Africa. And this book will go an extra mile in combating homophobia in Africa.”
