The regulatory record across six jurisdictions — CIRO and the CSA in Canada, the SEC, FINRA, CFTC, and NFA in the United States, the FCA in the United Kingdom, ESMA and national NCAs in the European Union, ASIC in Australia, and the JFSA and FFAJ in Japan — repeats the same finding: most retail traders lose money, and the losses cluster around a small number of preventable behaviors.
