I grew up on a small farm “somewhere east of Cascadia,” the youngest of four spirited siblings. Our world was stitched with irrigation ditches, tall maples and black walnuts, a kitchen full of love, and more animals than chairs at the supper table. After high school, I followed a path in Christian ministry until my retirement in 2011. Though I’m older now, those early years still stir warmly in my memory—and they’ve retaken root in the tales I write. "Whimsi and the Big Election" is a tale of animal friends, and how a most determined little rabbit seeks the answers that will keep him and his friends safe. Names like Whimsicalidoodle and "...the deep, deep woods" will keep any possible 'fidgets' calm waiting to hear the next name-even if it is just Timothy Twiddletale! The illustrations also are a delight and bring each animal to unforgettable life.
Without preaching, Pastor Loren makes it very clear who really listens and cares, no matter what (or who). It is no wonder his children' stories are so vital to his ministry--even in retirement!
