Who Can Actually Help in a Dangerous World?

Whimsi And the Big Election

by Author: Loren L. Fenton; Illustrator: Kimberly Holback

A READER RESPONSE:
"Whimsi and the Big Election" is a tale of animal friends, and how a most determined little rabbit seeks the answers that will keep him and his friends safe. Names like Whimsicalidoodle and "...the deep, deep woods" will keep any possible 'fidgets' calm waiting to hear the next name-even if it is just Timothy Twiddletale! The illustrations also are a delight and bring each animal to unforgettable life.
Without preaching, Pastor Loren makes it very clear who really listens and cares, no matter what (or who). It is no wonder his children' stories are so vital to his ministry--even in retirement! I look forward to reading more his Forest Fables and sharing them with all my friends. I'm eager to find out what Whimsi and friends may get involved with next! Linda P.

ANOTHER READER:
"I read "Whimsi and the Big Election" to my grandchildren. They LOVED it!" Anita T.

Saddlecreek Valley Books

Hi, I’m Loren L. Fenton, author of Saddlecreek Valley publications and Tales of Featherstone Farm, where memory, imagination, and a touch of whimsy meet.

I grew up on a small farm “somewhere east of Cascadia,” the youngest of four spirited siblings. Our world was stitched with irrigation ditches, tall maples and black walnuts, a kitchen full of love, and more animals than chairs at the supper table. After high school, I followed a path in Christian ministry until my retirement in 2011. Though I’m older now, those early years still stir warmly in my memory—and they’ve retaken root in the tales I write. Saddlecreek Valley, Saddlecreek Valley Landing, and the Tales of Featherstone Farm are a patchwork of actual places—renamed for the Saddlecreek Valley universe—childhood friends, neighbors, old-time routines, and a generous helping of whimsy, nostalgia, and grace. These books are an invitation to wander some dusty country roads and listen for stories on the wind. 📬 To receive musings from the valley and early glimpses of new stories, sign up for the Saddlecreek Valley Courier—a cozy newsletter delivered from my kitchen table to yours.
