Hi, I’m Loren L. Fenton, author of Saddlecreek Valley publications and Tales of Featherstone Farm, where memory, imagination, and a touch of whimsy meet.

I grew up on a small farm “somewhere east of Cascadia,” the youngest of four spirited siblings. Our world was stitched with irrigation ditches, tall maples and black walnuts, a kitchen full of love, and more animals than chairs at the supper table. After high school, I followed a path in Christian ministry until my retirement in 2011. Though I’m older now, those early years still stir warmly in my memory—and they’ve retaken root in the tales I write. Saddlecreek Valley, Saddlecreek Valley Landing, and the Tales of Featherstone Farm are a patchwork of actual places—renamed for the Saddlecreek Valley universe—childhood friends, neighbors, old-time routines, and a generous helping of whimsy, nostalgia, and grace.
