This book is written and currently ready for first rounds of ARC readers. We would like to hire a professional editor to help us polish this to a shine.
A contagious, shape-shifting magic has charmed leaders across neighboring Rhelms. A deeply loyal man sees the incongruities, rallies local forces and goes undercover for years to ferret out what's happening.
About the time our hero is making his move, a young necromancer who's magics have been suppressed, runs away in order to find herself. Along her journey she finds names are not what they seem and magic doesn't function like fairy stories.
Thwarted in love, a matron guides her town to survive and thrive through fumbled attacks from a neighboring isle. She brings many together and without knowing, is the focus for uncovering a threat which could unsettle two nations.
Along the way there are fun escapades, shopping trips and talking horses, proving that intrigue doesn't have to be all fighting and dark alleyways.
From the text:
He felt they were sisters and the liver chestnut didn't find laughing at humans all that innocuous. "Oh I can't separate you. That would be unethical."
"Taught, yes. All the old stories, but no one ever said this was real!" she exclaimed softly...
"No dear, you are the best I have ever encountered. Man or woman."
Lorna likes to spend time snuggling with Boo, crafting and reading.
I saw a quote, 'You'll be someone's favorite author some day.' I already am, but that's not what I want. Let's promote the connections within. These books don't need to be your favorite to have made a difference in your life. Don't have to be the best written to earn a crazy amount of money. For me, what I want is fans to whom I can say a line from a book and the image of the character enters their head and they smile, maybe bust out laughing. "Yeah, that was a good one." they say and I know I've done my job well. Not flawlessly, not epically, just notable enough to change one more person's viewpoint in a positive direction. It's what twenty or so authors did for me and hold a place in my heart for doing it. ~Lorna B, Author of the Loretta Savhol series. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61566887807399 I wrote half a million words after my car was beaten to death working ride share. Now I want everyone to vicariously experience free love through my fantasy fiction.
