A teen's daily journal for naming big feelings — and knowing what to do with them.

31 Days of Managing Anger, Sadness, and Fear for Teens

by Alexandria Courtney

Anger, sadness, and fear can hit hard and fast, and it's not always easy to know what to do when they show up. 31 Days of Managing Anger, Sadness, and Fear is a month-long journal designed for teens, offering one short, doable practice each day to help you understand your emotions rather than feel stuck inside them.

About The Book

Each day includes:

~A feeling word to help you get specific about what's really going on (not just "mad," "sad," or "scared," but words like frustrated, lonely, or nervous)
~A simple "I feel ___ when ___ because ___" prompt to help you spot what's actually triggering the emotion
~A quick reset using the STOP method — Stop, Pause, and Take Time To Think Things Through Thoroughly
— with easy breathing steps to help you calm down in the moment

By day 31, you'll have a month of practice putting words to your feelings and knowing what to do next — a set of tools you can keep using long after the journal ends.

LMHCA, Wife, and mama to some fur babies

Hello, I'm Alexandria Courtney, the author behind all this, and while I work as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) during the day, I spend my off time writing. This has always been a core part of who I am. While growing up, I was even published in high school through a local college with a poem I wrote. So, as I work to incorporate something I love so much into my daily life. I only hope my audience finds joy in utilizing the journals & Books that will soon be available. I also want to thank my amazing husband, who supports all of my thoughts and ideas!

Understanding: Anger, Sadness, and Fear

For Teens

Written directly to teens — not at them — this guided workbook breaks down three of the hardest emotions to deal with: anger, sadness, and fear. No lectures, no clinical jargon, no "just calm down." Instead, real explanations of what's actually happening in the body and brain, plus practical tools that work in the moment, not just in theory.

Each section follows the same clear path: understand the emotion, notice where it shows up in the body, name what's really going on underneath it, and build a toolkit of strategies that actually help. Along the way, guided reflection prompts, trigger checklists, and daily trackers turn insight into a habit — not just a one-time read.

A journal is coming soon… with guided prompts to aid the work done alongside this book.
