A Companion Guide to the Death Tarot

The Death Tarot

by Richard Harris

About The Book

The Death-themed Major Arcana Tarot can be both visually compelling and psychologically profound. Death in the symbolic sense speaks not only of endings, but of transitions, thresholds, transformation, release, and rebirth. Woven into each of the 22 cards of the Major Arcana Death is not merely one card—it is the lens through which all are viewed.

Each card reveals a face of Death—as change, decay, release, memory, legacy, rebirth, time, sacrifice, silence, shadow, and so forth. This deck could have a dark, poetic, dreamlike visual language—rooted in myth, ritual, and natural cycles.

These images of the major arcana provide both visually. stimulating interactions, but also a brief written description of each card and keywords upon which to meditate.

"It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live." Marcus Aurelius, "Meditations," 12.1.2

Archetypal Artworks

In my opinion, works of art, music and literature should tend to the development of the soul. It is my intention here, to assist you in the tending of your soul through these humble offerings..

I have enjoyed many professions in my life: minister, theologian, electrician, contractor, psychotherapist, and more. It has been on the journey through life that I discovered the one enduring value which is most important - it is that of tending to your own soul. In that vein, I offer my published works as tools to aid in that endeavor.
