An Imaginative Adventure in Alchemy

The Secretum Alchymiae

by Richard Harris

About The Book

This is a work of old world alchemy in a modern presentation. The book itself is an imaginative look at a fictional book of alchemy entitled the Secret of Alchemy, but it is a presentation of artwork and Latin phrases, resembling the contents of what an actual alchemical tome would incorporate to depict a system of transmutation. The four elements, geometric configurations, the characteristics of metals, and more. Those familiar with alchemical themes and symbols will see familiar terms and images. The tone of the book is envisioned as both imaginative and meditative; the focus is on the inner work of transmutation within the soul, by means of the ancient physical practice of alchemy. This tome is the result of years of study within the Western alchemical texts of the medieval and renaissance and into the enlightenment. It is meant to be enjoyed as a visual and imaginative feast.

Archetypal Artworks

In my opinion, works of art, music and literature should tend to the development of the soul. It is my intention here, to assist you in the tending of your soul through these humble offerings..

I have enjoyed many professions in my life: minister, theologian, electrician, contractor, psychotherapist, and more. It has been on the journey through life that I discovered the one enduring value which is most important - it is that of tending to your own soul. In that vein, I offer my published works as tools to aid in that endeavor.
